What is tower defense? ### Build towers, stop waves Tower defense is a strategy game in which enemies walk along a route in waves and you stop them with towers. You place towers, upgrade them and make sure no enemy reaches your goal. That sounds simple and quickly gets deep: which tower fits which wave, where does an upgrade pay off, how long should the path be? Bannerwrath: Hero Tower Defense combines that with what made the great tower defense maps classic: a **maze of towers** that you shape yourself, **monsters you send to your opponent**, and a **hero** who fights at your side. Every tower lengthens or shortens their march. - **The path stays open:** A build that would block it completely is rejected. This is a fixed rule that applies equally to towers, hero and traps. - **Five tower families:** archer, crossbow, mage, rune and sling towers, each with two branches and five ranks. Gold is the only currency. - Do you strengthen your defense or put your opponent under pressure? This decision makes every battle different. - In the alpha you play against the AI at several difficulty levels, the duel against real players is planned. Frequently asked questions ### Tower defense: answers at a glance ### What is Bannerwrath: Hero Tower Defense? A tower defense game for PC with maze building, monsters you send to your opponent and a hero you control yourself. The game is in a closed alpha. ### How do I get into the test? With an invitation code on the “Join the test” page. If you do not have one, put your email address on the waiting list. As soon as a spot is free, you get your code. ### What does taking part in the test cost? Taking part in the closed alpha costs nothing. Nothing has been decided about the price of the finished game. One thing is certain: there is no pay-to-win. ### Which devices does it run on? The alpha runs on Windows PCs. You need a few hundred megabytes of space. ### Can I play alone? Yes. In the alpha you play the Solo Lane against the AI or in practice rounds. Duels against real players and a co-op mode for two to five heroes are planned. ### Can I block the enemies' path completely? No. The path always stays open. A build that would block it completely is rejected. This applies equally to towers, hero and traps. ### Will Bannerwrath come out on Steam? That is planned, a date has not been set. Then there should also be a playtest via Steam. Until then the waiting list is the way into the game.
